Small of stature, I could not imagine him competing like that. It was a quick read and I Wanted to see what happened. It's not the high quality, vibrant glossy colored photography like in other books - just really detailed accurate photos that facilitate species identification.. It's a must own for professionals and serious lay persons alike.. I have tried many pressure cooker books and I can say that without hesitationnothing comes close not even marginally closeto this one. His health and age make it so he can't do much other than watch tv now. Despite it's age, this is clearly and interestingly written, by an author who walked through these deserts for decades.
