Editorial : From Library Journal Everson, a six-time Ms. Olympia, has compiled a guide for the average man or woman interested in weight training. While she does not address the serious bodybuilder, her suggestions will have definite appeal to the novice. The strengths of her compilation are the glossary of weight-training terms, the numerous illustrations depicting correct form, and the list of workouts designed to develop certain parts of the body and improve performance in various sports. The "cheesecake" photos detract from an otherwise informative and instructive book. For the serious body builder, the Joe Weider series (e.g., Joe Weider's Ul timate Bodybuilding , Contemporary Bks., 1989) is superior, yet this is a fine introduction to the sport.- Susan L. The horsepower doubled, the ship acquired blisters, the armor (especially the deck armor) was improved dramatically but the text gives little indication and no details of all this. Their first book, `Classic American Streamliners', told the history of these trains in words, photos and plenty of graphic material, now this latest book takes a slightly different approach and looks at the art and design of the streamliner. I was impressed with the customer reviews, so I ordered Snapshots. The writing is superb and I get the characterization of the two protagonists and the drastic times. I do think the book will have to come out every two or three years with new editions as styles change. The first volume (Italian Art / John Pope-Hennessy)was published as far back as 1987! I have most of the volumes and they have given much pleasure over the years. But because her mom didn't know English names for many of the ingredients, she could never duplicate her mom's soup.
