The book was in good state. Maynard Solomon has made the same points in detail in his essay on the Seventh Symphony in his recent book "Late Beethoven".
In addition to the musical analyses, Grove writes with great passion about Beethoven and his work. I know how to look at paintings better. Wayne Turmel has cleared the path for you. Or rather, Matt Murdock. Chapter 3 does a great job explaining how acupuncture works. In fact, I'm off to purchase more of Sara Craven's books right now.. Not so with this one. Ungrateful Daughters treats the last days of the house of Stuart as seen through the perspectives of the major characters: James II, Mary of Modena, Mary II, William of Orange, and Queen Anne. Can't wait to get to the end of this book so I can read her other one.. Coffee table is best, if you can risk the delightful Gilles Berquet nude on the cover. If you have an undergraduate degree (or upper-level undergrad student), this is a great text to start understanding composite
