    At the end of the book, short snippets of life stories of the soup champions are then introduced. I was dreading the prospect of entertaining two 5 year olds for 45 minutes until I saw a copy of Eloise, which has been out of print for many years. Grove's enthusiasm and love for his subject is eloquent. My many questions about tempering were not answered by other books or research on the Internet. Some stories are just too brief to be compelling.

    The author (or should I say "editor") here goes on to give extensive notes and cites all of her sources. The people who live around Seattle and Tacoma should find the last half of the book informative. I was disappointed because as a ebook it is impossible to read without rotating the device. There's magic at work here. I would read something by this author again.
