I am bias because I already love Esther, her Dads, the dogs and all of the farm but reading this book was a true delight. A little hard to figure out what day it is sometimes, since the days are not set up like a "regular" calendar, but I am more interested in the picture than what day it is- ha ha. The book was well written which is always a plus. Then she was off with the warriors and falling in love, which led me to believe she was grown – but then why was she stuck babysitting? The dating in the book’s opening and closing chapters conflicted – I couldn’t follow the timeline or keep track of her aging progression. My hat is off to you Ms. Artemisia's painting, though, comes right from Caravaggio's blood-letting scene (c. The time spanned is from Mohammed (pbuh) to the present day.
