- Every little boy dreams about putting on a cape and soaring up, up, and away but what if one day that dream were to come true? Eric was like every other eight-year-old boy, until a tragic accident changed his life forever. The Cape explores the dark side of power, as the adult Eric — a confused and broken man — takes to the skies and sets out to exact a terrible vengeance on everyone who ever disappointed him!
- Based on the short story by New York Times bestselling author Joe Hill, The Cape Deluxe Edition brings both dark, powerful comic book series together into one oversized volume.
I bought this for myself (I am a man) because I saw excerpts on msn and I thought the writing style was excellent. If you happen to own his earlier collection "Remaking History," note that there is a lot of overlap between that book and this one.
Table of Contents (PT= my story comments):
Page 1 * Venice Drowned * (1981) * novelette
19 * Ridge Running * (1984) * short story
33 * Before I Wake * (1989) * short story
43 * Black Air * (1983) * novelette * World Fantasy Award. This book is a marvelous insight into a stylish form of travel that is lost to time and progress (almost lost). I couldn't have been more wrong.
I'm a book snob. It is fully loaded with all that and more and is sure to keep the reader entertained. The last third of the book presents the reigns of Mary, William, and the last Stuart, Queen Anne.
In an ironic twist the revolution's direct cause was the one thing all Kings strive for - the birth of a male heir
